Ulta Haul

So, I discovered that there is an Ulta about an hour from my house. I was so stupid excited to go because I have never been to one before. I was in heaven! And all the people who worked there were wonderful. Even when a bottle of polish broke. Oops! Luckily none got on the floor and it was all contained in the shopping bag. I bought so much, probably too much.

Quake Set with Tink-Her-Bell

Ulta Salon Formula Chocolate Kiss, Alter Ego, Purple Haze, and Dance Teal Dawn

Into Astrono-Me, Ruby Slipper, Little Black Dress

Envy, Brownette, Devious

Salon Formula old bottle in Scene Steel-er and Femme Fatale, Professional Formula in Underground

Then China Glaze was buy 2 get a free top coat. China Glaze Haunting, White Cap, and Crimson plus free Seche Vite!

Then I popped over to Sally’s to pick up a few things. I got some nail wheels and my very first Nina Ultra Pro polishes! Plus a few more China Glaze polishes.

Nina Ultra Pro in Glamrock, Candi Apple, Purple-Xing, Emerald City

Orly Cutique and China Glaze Fairy Dust, Watermelon Rind

On the way home I stopped at Rite Aid to see what was on sale. I found these pretty duo chrome beauties.

Chameleon Blue Sky and Calypso

So many new polishes. I should go on a no buy. But that will last like until I see a sale again. I am such a impulse polish buyer.

China Glaze “Crimson”

This is one of the polishes from my recent Ulta haul. Its part of the China Glaze Haunting collection. At first I thought with a name like Crimson it would be a deep dark red. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is actually a blacked purple crème. Formula was great, went on opaque in 2 coats. Seche Vite made it super shiny and like dark glass. You can see from the messy clean up job the purple tint around the cuticles. So pretty but I only wore it for a day because of something else you will see coming in a later post.

China Glaze “Cross Iron 360” and “Black Mesh”

After I took off my last mani, I went to close the window and had quite the break. My left thumb nail tore completely off. No saving it. It is still long but not as long as I prefer.

This is a blurry photo but this is how it looks filed down.

Another mani from my Haunting Collection that came the other day. China Glaze Cross Iron 360 is a beautiful burnt orange metallic. I think it was originally part of the Ski collection from a few years ago. Formula was great, went on easy. Completely opaque in 2 coats. Sadly, I didn’t get any pictures of it just plain. I added a coat of Black Mesh crackle top coat. Like all crackles, it needed to be put on in one thin coat. The drying pattern was varied with some large cracks and some smaller with most being vertical. As always a couple coats of Seche Vite made it absolutely gorgeous and super shiny! Lots of pictures, enjoy! Oh and excuse the mess around my cuticles, this was pre clean up.

China Glaze “It’s Alive” and my very first nail mail!!!!

I was stupid excited to get my very first nail mail on Friday! The previous week I had ordered the China Glaze Haunting Collection from Sally Beauty Supply. It was the last day of September and I had to use my 15% and $5 off coupons that day. Basically it made it free shipping. I was surprised when it showed up with an orange color instead of the top coat. I wasn’t expecting it but I am always excited to have a new color. In order China Glaze Cross Iron 360, It’s Alive, Black Mesh crackle polish, and Ghoulish Glow.

Cross Iron 360 and It’s Alive

Black Mesh and Ghoulish Glow

I had to try It’s Alive first thing. It is a beautiful green glitter, both micro and hex. It is completely full of glitter too which made the formula a little thick and hard to apply. It was also a top coat monster. Two coats of Seche Vite, the one coat of Ghoulish Glow, and then another of top coat before it was smooth. The color made it worth all the layers. So, so pretty and glittery. But the glow in the dark polish did muddy the color. In the pictures you can see the difference between them. My pointer fingers are both without Ghoulish Glow. This polish lasted for all of 24 hours before it started to pop off in full sheets. I think next time I wear it I will layer one coat of a solid color before putting on a coat of It’s Alive.
